Millet360°: Nourishing Bharat – Empowering Self Help Groups (SHGs)
The Millet360°: Nourishing Bharat initiative empowers women by building a network of successful women entrepreneurs in rural areas. Through expos, the program enables women to showcase their products, creating markets for their natural foods. Recognizing that women’s contributions in agriculture and food processing are often under-supported, the initiative seeks to enhance access to subsidies, technical resources, and market opportunities. By strengthening women’s roles in farming, food processing, and economic upliftment, it fosters agricultural innovation and women’s empowerment from farm to table.
The initiative was officially launched on 4th March 2025, during the Women’s Week celebrations, at the 'Illness to Wellness' initiative 'Women, Wellness and Gut Health' Expo in Gurgaon, by BK Sister Shivani in the presence of noted nutritionist Ms. Ishi Khosla and prominent figures from the medical and nutrition sectors. The event brought together Self Help Groups (SHGs) from Uttarakhand, allowing them to showcase and sell their natural products alongside well-established brands.
This hands-on experience gave SHGs valuable exposure to market models, packaging, sales strategies, and essential insights into points of sale. It also offered a unique opportunity for direct market engagement and practical knowledge that will help them scale their businesses.
Building on Success: Mera Millet Magic Campaign
Millet360° builds upon the success of the Mera Millet Magic campaign, which transformed millet from "food for the poor" to "food for everyone."
The campaign, with celebrity endorsements reached nearly 4 million of their followers, as millet-based options spread across cinema halls, hotels, eateries, and public spaces. The message was clear: millet is versatile, nutritious, and sustainable.
